DTC ecommerce
Prepare product-page content before a Shopify build.
A product page cannot carry the product story if the information, media and approvals behind it are still scattered. This checklist helps a DTC team prepare the source material that a Shopify build needs before the first page is designed.

Use this before a project handoff or launch review
01
Set the product record
Create a current record for each product and variant: name, format, size, price, availability, collection, primary action and the information a customer needs to compare options.
02
Separate approved facts from working copy
Keep approved product claims, ingredients, usage information, shipping details, subscription terms and legal wording distinct from draft marketing copy. Name the person who can confirm a change.
03
Plan the media with the page in mind
Gather current product photography, pack shots, lifestyle imagery, video and any required crop or format information. Identify what is missing instead of treating imagery as a late-stage placeholder.
04
List the customer questions
Use the questions that sales, customer service or the product team already receives to decide what the page needs to answer: product fit, size, use, ingredients, delivery, returns or recurring purchase.
05
Define the product hierarchy
Decide how a first-time visitor should move between a hero product, the wider range, bundles, subscriptions and supporting brand information. The page structure should reflect the actual way the catalogue is sold.
06
Assign the operating owner
Name who will maintain product content, pricing, inventory, policies and campaign changes after launch. A build handoff is more useful when the team knows where routine edits will live.
Scope boundary
Know who approves what.
This is a content-planning checklist, not legal, regulatory, payment, inventory or platform advice. The appropriate client owners and specialists retain responsibility for those decisions.
